Glossary of Terms

UDCC Direct Connect of Virginia, a Virginia corporation, formed in 1994 by Lonnie D. Gaddy and Carlos Gavidia. Sales partners with NPC and EPS.
NPC National Processing Company. Processes all debit, credit, and check transactions for most DCC customers. Located in Louisville, KY. Number 2 processor in country.
EPS/Concord Electronic Payment Services Inc./purchased by Concord. Processes all ATM transactions for DCC customers. Located in Wilmington, Delaware. Number 1 ATM processor in country.
Northern Leasing Exclusive leasing company used by DCC for all credit/debit POS leases. Partner with NPC and located in New York. Automatic lease approval, no pre-qualifying for NPC accepted merchants. Leasing program called SureLease.
Triton Systems Number 1 ATM equipment provider in the country. Located in Long Beach, Mississippi.
ATM Automatic Teller Machine (DCC sells only cash dispensing ATMs – they will not accept deposits.)
 
ATM/Debit Card Automatic debit to consumer’s checking account when used. Extends no credit and can only be used if money is in the consumer’s account. Can be used at ATM machines and POS equipment with a pinpad – pin number required.
Auto-Close Term used when credit card terminal automatically closes at a specified time at time and deposits transactions at the processor, enabling funds to be transferred into the merchants’ bank account. Most merchants set up on auto-close. Exception: merchants accepting tips.
Charge Back Term used when consumer unable to settle a return/refund on a credit card transaction. Consumer calls credit card issuer to charge back the sale to the merchant and act as a mediator in resolving the dispute. A charge back fee is charged to the merchant if merchant is found at fault.
